Sometimes I take my camera with me on my commute. Sometimes I stop off at a carpark off the Wakehurst Parkway next to Narrabeen Lake. Sometimes there are herons and egrets foraging for food. This morning was one of those mornings. This is a white faced heron. Pretty common, but still elegant.
I feel a bit guilty about how I get shots like these. I get the camera ready and advance slowly toward the bird until I get into its comfort zone, whereupon it flies away.
This shot is straight out of the camera. No cropping. No Photoshopping.
